BOLTCALC enables engineers
to calculate the fatigue endurance limit of a
thread, the amount of embedding anticipated in
the joint, and the optimal tightening torque for
given friction conditions.
JOINT ANALYSIS program:

Joint Analysis module determines
whether or not a bolted joint is capable of
sustaining the forces acting upon it. During the
design phase, the program aids in determining
the optimal bolt size required for a given
application.
The program determines the
fatigue endurance limit of the thread (roller or
machine cut), the amount of embedding
anticipated in the joint and the tightening
torque required for a given set of friction
conditions. Joint Analysis also performs
calculations that reveal whether or not a bolt
will fail because of insufficient tension,
fatigue, or by direct overload of the bolt.

THREAD ANALYSIS program:
Thread Analysis module determines
the forces required to strip the internal and
external threads of a fastener. It can also
calculate the force required to fracture an
external threaded fastener across the threaded
section. To precisely predict the force and mode
of failure of a threaded assembly requires
consideration of a large variety of independent
factors.

TORQUE ANALYSIS program:
Torque Analysis module is
designed to provide a means of determining the
correct tightening torque and the resulting
anticipated clamp force for a threaded fastener.
Torque Analysis can take into account such
factors as tensile stress, torsional stress,
frictional stress and scatter, and tapering of
the shank diameter when calculating tightening
torque.
